Tibetan Spaniels of Vickford
Angelwing Simply The Best "Ali"

SIRE: CH Flolin Ain't It A Fact DAM: Moetica Tanita
Below: Best of Breed, Bonanza Kennel Club, September 2007

Ali, known affectionately to his breeders and co-owners, Ned and Sharon Shevelson, as ‘The Little Red Dog,’ came to live with us in February, 2007 when he started to flex his independent ‘boy’ behavior and needed some extra attention in conformation training. We spent many hours with Ali, going to conformation class two times a week in San Mateo, showing him in Northern California, Oregon and Texas and learning more about this fascinating breed. He was a joy to have in our home and we were grateful to show him and take him along with Chloe to the Tibetan Spaniel Club of America 2007 National Specialty in Fort Worth, TX.

Stumptown Classic, Portland, Oregon, July, 2007
Ali won his class at the 2007 TSCA National Specialty under Judge Karen Williams and was Best Tibetan Spaniel Puppy at the Camelia Capital Kennel Club in Woodland, CA, in 2007. Ali is out of Moetica Tanita (a beautiful, rich red, Slovenian import) and is descended from Chotu, one of two ‘Native Tibetan Spaniels’ imported into Europe and registered with the FCI. While this has been somewhat controversial in the Tibbie world, the hope was that these ‘native’ Tibbies from South Asia would contribute to an expansion and strengthening of the Tibetan Spaniel gene pool. Eventually the Shevelsons decided that ‘The Little Red Dog,’ while ‘Simply The Best’ to us, simply did not enjoy the show ring, and after eight points toward his championship he was retired, neutered, and went to live with a loving family in the San Francisco Bay area.
